Offloading, Deliveries & Returns

Offloading

As the purchaser, it is your responsibility to offload all materials at your delivery address in a safe manner with adequate equipment if required.

PLEASE NOTE THIS MATERIAL IS UNBURRED AND CUT ENDS MAY BE SHARP. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY FOR ACCIDENTS CAUSED AFTER THE GOODS HAVE BEEN DELIVERED.

Please note that our courier’s vehicles do not come offloading equipment (forklift/hi-ab). The drivers are only employed to deliver the goods to the required location so it will be your responsibility to provide suitable lifting equipment or enough personnel on site if required.

To follow manual handling protocols, the maximum parcel weight is 25kg. Any orders larger than this will be delivered in multiple parcels. Any singular products which exceed 25kg may need to be palletised. Carriage will be quoted separately on these.

The Steel Shop Online will check the load of accuracy and stability, however the load may have shifted in transit so the recipient must complete another check before offloading to ensure safety. 

Deliveries

All orders will be shipped by FedEx. We aim to deliver all products within three working days from receipt of goods, depending on stock availability.

If your order is part of a larger installation on site, we do not recommend scheduling any work or booking contractors until you have received and checked the goods. We can not be held responsible or be liable for any losses, damages, charges, compensation or expenses as a result of any delay in delivery.

Due to the nature of our products we are unable to offer a timed delivery slot. Standard delivery with FedEx is between 8.00am to 5.30pm, (these times are estimated only and delivery may be earlier or later than shown) Monday to Friday. Standard delivery includes our free delivery service for orders over £250.

We will email you to let you know your order has been shipped and how to track its progress. We will contact you by email to advise when you can expect delivery if it is more than 3 days.

We reserve the right to apply additional delivery charges on orders that are heavy, long or being delivered to a remote address. We will contact you on receipt of your order if any additional charges apply prior to its dispatch.

Occasionally if we are awaiting stock of an item delivery may be extended by a few days; if delivery of your order is going to be delayed longer than this one of our customer service staff will contact you to advise of the delay and, where required, offer an alternative or a refund.

Please note that despatch may take a little longer if your order requires a large volume of material cuts.

Pallet Deliveries – Any singular products which exceed 25kg may need to be palletised. Carriage will be quoted separately on these. If you place an order for profiles, these may arrive on a pallet to try and prevent damage and for ease of handling. Unfortunately the courier is unable to deliver pallets to the door as it is a curbside delivery only. The courier is unable to remove the pallet once delivery has been made. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Returns

Steel Shop Online are pleased to offer a returns service for unwanted goods. Please notify customer services within 7 days if you want to arrange a goods collection. A courier will be arranged at a cost to the customer. Once payment is received, we will instruct our courier to collect the goods from you, they will contact you to arrange a suitable time / day for collection.

Upon receiving the goods back, we will photograph and issue the refund accordingly subject to inspection. If the goods are damaged in transit they will not be eligible for a refund and the carriage charge will not be refunded. We advise that the items are packaged as well as possible, so damage is prevented, and the refund can be processed.
